Painting & Decorating my Coffee Cart for Valentine's Day

Guys! It's so easy to take a little paint and spruce up a piece of furniture. For Valentine's Day, I was inspired to paint and decorate my coffee cart WHITE.

Before I begin, I have to give props to my daughter, Teah. She kindly and tirelessly helped me out full time last week by revamping my website and making it shine!!! She captured my vision and is so talented... THANK YOU TEAH!!!!

Ok, on to the the project!!!

Come see what I did....

Give the piece a light sanding first. I used some leftover paint I had in the garage from an earlier project. The paint already has primer in it, so that made it super easy. Then you simply get rollin'!

I ended up doing three coats of this paint. Then, after it cured for a day or so, I Iightly sanded the edges to give it a distressed look with a block sander.

Then I added some latex poly to the top of it to seal it. I won't be doing any food prep on here but I do want to protect it from coffee and tea stains. I did 3 coats -letting it dry 4-6 hours between coats.

I also gave the handles of these baskets a refresh of white paint as well to complete the look!

Tada!!! Doesn't it look super cuuuute!? I'm pretty pleased with it. Here are some close ups of the decor styling:

I added some cute touches for Valentine's Day! These cute pink meringues, some pink striped mugs with rise gold hearts, and some sweet espresso cups too!

I got out my XOXO from Michael's and this tea pot/cup set from Homesense.

They had these beautiful tea towels at Winner's this season!

I later added this glass jar filled with sugar, a copper serving dish from the thrift store and a pink salt lamp.

For hardly any money and shopping my home first, I created a DIY project that you could do too!!!

Just for fun, I wanted to share some of my favorite ways that I've decorated my coffee cart over the past few years:

Here's a photo of a coffee bar I created in my bedroom a couple of years ago. It's now a vanity (which you will see in a an upcoming blog post) but the sky is the limit!!

Thanks for stopping by the blog and supporting me! Be sure to head over to Instagram for more ideas and inspiration for the season! I' love to hear your feedback, so please leave your thoughts in the comments below :) Enjoy your day!!!
